Salso Maiore
Water, parks, architecture
Here, wellbeing takes the form of thermal water and urban greenery: you can choose between health programs and beauty treatments, and on the same day stroll along tree-lined avenues and pause in the parks. In just a few stops, you move from early twentieth-century façades to the rationalist geometries of the historic centre, breathing in the Belle Époque atmosphere.
Palazzo delle Terme Berzieri
QC SPA Salsomaggiore
An Art Nouveau-Deco masterpiece designed by Giulio Bernardini with decorative ceramics by Galileo Chini, Terme Berzieri is the emblem of the town. A symbol of Italian thermalism, where architecture tells of a season devoted to the culture of water. Today, it hosts the QC Terme Spa. From here, you can continue with a short walk through Parco Mazzini - with the botanical itinerary of the Queen's Trees - Palazzo dei Congressi and the Berardinelli staircase.

Parchi del Ducato
Within the Parchi del Ducato, a variety of environments intertwine: the Stirone river corridor and the Piacenziano formations, with outcrops of ophiolitic rocks born on the seabed of the ancient Ligurian Ocean; then the Taro and the Boschi di Carrega; and, further up, the forests of the Parco dei Cento Laghi. Well-marked trails and clear directions allow both routes accessible to everyone and treks with moderate elevation gain and longer times.
The Parks calendar brings the year to life with guided "Camminaparchi" excursions, seasonal nature observations and theatre-in-nature events.

Below the surface
The properties of the waters of Salsomaggiore and Tabiano have been known for centuries: the earliest evidence dates back to the Middle Ages, while therapeutic use became established in the nineteenth century thanks to the physician Lorenzo Berzieri and Duchess Maria Luigia of Austria, who founded the Tabiano spa resort in 1841.
In Salsomaggiore, the Zoia spa facility uses salsobromoiodic waters among the most concentrated in the world for baths, mud treatments, inhalation therapies and rehabilitation programs.
In Tabiano, sulphurous waters act on the respiratory system: a vocation that attracted the great names of Opera - from Giuseppe Verdi to Enrico Caruso - for voice care and preservation. Today they welcome those seeking balance, physical recovery or a preventive path.
